Singapore is a globally connected gateway to Asia and a leading centre for biomedical sciences, healthcare innovation and research. Through its whole-of-nation “War on Diabetes” and continued investment in prevention, early detection, research and integrated care, Singapore has demonstrated a strong commitment to addressing diabetes, making it an ideal host for the International Diabetes Epidemiology Group (IDEG) 2027 Symposium.

The Western Pacific region is one of the regions most affected by diabetes globally, with approximately 1 in 8 adults living with the condition. Half are undiagnosed. This reality underpins the need for collective action and the importance of bringing the global diabetes community together in Singapore.

Check if you need a visa?

​

If you hold a travel document1 issued by one of the countries or places listed below, you will require a valid Singapore entry visa to travel to, and seek entry, into Singapore.

Possession of a valid visa does not guarantee entry into Singapore. Please refer to entry requirements for more information.

Please note the following:

• SG Arrival Card is not a visa. Please refer to SG Arrival Card e-Service for more information.

• Valid visa holders are required to adhere to the latest travel requirements and advisories, where applicable.

• The period of stay in Singapore is not tied to the validity of your visa. The period of stay is determined by the duration of the Visit Pass issued to you in the form of electronic visit pass (e-Pass) at the checkpoint upon entry. 

• To extend the duration of stay, the applicant will have to apply for a Short-Term Visit Pass (STVP) extension. For more information, please refer to Seeking Extension of Visit Pass.

All travellers, regardless of age, must hold a valid individually-issued travel document as collective travel documents are not accepted.

Getting to the Venue

MRT
Take the North South Line (Red Line) to Novena (NS20). Exit via Exit B, walk through Velocity @ Novena Square towards the HealthCity Novena precinct. The venue is about a 10 minute walk from the station.

Taxi and Ride Hail
Enter Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine Headquarters & Clinical Sciences Building, 11 Mandalay Road, Singapore 308232. Alight at the main entrance.

From Changi Airport
By taxi or private hire, about 25 to 30 minutes depending on traffic. By public transport, MRT from Changi Airport (CG2) transferring to the North South Line to Novena (NS20), then a 10 minute walk.
